Note:
This document describes the recommended procedure for installing the Admira Player on devices with an Android operating system. Parts of the process may vary depending on the operating system versions and device model due to the wide disparity between manufacturers. For more information, please do not hesitate to write to our Technical Support Service.

Important:
When starting the Setup process, bear in mind that the device must be at 100% battery power.

Reset the device with a Hard Reset

Note:
If your device is new, you can skip this device memory wipe step.

If the device is NOT new and has failed several times (apk run, etc), a hard reset must be performed as follows:

  1. Turn off the tablet using the Power key.
  2. Then keep the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons pressed for a few seconds.
Reset the device with a Hard Reset
  1. Stop pressing the keys when the Samsung logo appears on the screen.
  2. Select Wipe data / Factory reset using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to confirm.
Reset the device with a Hard Reset
  1. In the next step, choose Yes – delete all user data to confirm the operation.
  2. When the recovery mode appears again, select Reboot system now.
  3. The hard reset has now been completed.

Enable Developer Options

First open the Settings menu of the Android tablet and go to the end, specifically the About tablet section.

In this menu, you will find details of the model and operating system of your tablet. By default, developer features are disabled in Android to prevent inexperienced users from changing settings that they should not. To re-enable these functions, tap Build Number 5 times. This option is under Software Information.

When you tap this section 7 times, a message will appear telling you that you are now a developer, and a new entry is enabled in the settings menu of your Android device called Developer Options.

In summary:

  • Settings > About tablet > Software information
  • Tap 7 times on Build Number

Developer Options Settings

Then configure the following settings in this section:

  • Settings > Developer Options > Enabled
  • Settings > Developer Options > Stay Active > Enabled
  • Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging > Enabled
  • Settings > Developer Options > Disable Absolute Volume > Enabled

Rooting the Android device

It is generally not necessary to root your device in order to use Admira with it. However, some of the solution’s advanced features (for example, power-off and power-on from platform ) may require more control over the Android operating system than we usually have with a consumer device. Please review your project needs carefully to see if you need to carry out this step.

Note:
Rooting a device incorrectly can lead to problems with the Android operating system as well as loss of the manufacturer’s warranty coverage. For any queries, please contact the Technical Support Service.

Recommended rooting apps

In order to be able to root your Android device, you need to install specific software. We recommend the following:

  • Odin: PC programme used to install and update firmware manually.
  • CF Auto Root: Android rooting app.

It should be noted that there are specific versions of CF Auto Root for the vast majority of Android devices from major manufacturers, so you should look for the right version for your model. For the purposes of this manual, we will use the Samsung SM-T550 model as an example. You can download the corresponding files here. For other models, contact the Technical Support Service for more information.

Once the programmes have been downloaded, follow the steps below:

  1. Fully charge the device’s battery.
  2. Put the computer in download mode.
