What is the need?

In this section, we will manage the content uploaded to the Portal, which is displayed as a list. Each item in the content list, along with its preview, is presented as follows:

Content
  • Title: Displays the title of the content
  • Notice: Indicates that the content has no Criteria or Categories (required only in Advanced mode)
  • Length: Indicates the length of the content. Static images (jpg, png…) by default last 10 seconds (configurable)
  • Activation and expiration: The period of time for which the content will be available for broadcast. By default, startup is enabled at upload time and expiration is unlimited

Note

Expired content is deleted by default.

  • Upload: The date and time the content was uploaded to the platform
  • Author: User who uploaded the content
  • Share: Displays the URL so you can share the content
  • More info: Displays the resolution, schedules and days assigned to the content
  • Content Deployment: Displays the Playlists, Players and campaigns associated with the content
  • Edit: Edit the information (name and description) of the content and its activation and expiration data
  • Change Status: Changes the status of the content (Pending, Approved or Cancelled). Only “approved” content can be broadcast
  • Edit Deployment: Change the criteria, categories and distribution of the content (required for Advanced mode)
  • Live: Allows you to edit the schedules and the broadcast mode of the content (for Advanced mode)
  • Delete: Deletes the content from the system

Deleted content can be restored from “Deleted Content”

Edit content deployment

You should only modify content distribution if you are going to use Advanced mode. Otherwise, it is not necessary (content can be added manually to the simple Playlist).

You must assign criteria and categories to any content that will be used for Advanced mode distribution.

Apply Criteria to content

    Within the Deployment section at the bottom of each content item, click Edit Deployment

    All Criteria created within the project will be displayed. Select all the Criteria you want to apply to the broadcast of the content
  • 3
    Once the criteria have been chosen, the list of screens/Players where the content will be broadcast will appear (if the screens or Players have criteria assigned to them)

    Review Criteria selection and repeat steps 2 and 3 for Categories

The more criteria content is assigned, the more restricted its broadcast will be. This is because only those Players meeting all the criteria assigned to this content will broadcast it.

Broadcast mode

In Advanced mode, you can set showings per hour, broadcast share (within its corresponding share ratio) or unlimited broadcast mode (this option, which is the default setting, is typically used for “fills”, i.e. timeless content that fills free spaces in the automatic Playlist in Advanced mode, once content with a set number of showings has been placed).

Emission Schedule

Broadcast type:

  • Showings per hour:  Sets content broadcasting based on the number of showings per hour.
  • Broadcast percentage: Sets the content broadcast based on a percentage
  • Unlimited: Plays the content as many times as possible (used as fill content)

Schedule

  • Adds a new schedule for the specified content

Add schedule

  • Sets the days of the week on which the content will be broadcast

To set content broadcast times in Simple mode, you must first add the content to a Playlist or Block and then click on the clock icon (24 hours) next to the content preview.

If the content is within a Block, you can set showings per hour for the Block (within a Playlist) but not for each content item.
