Contents: supported formats and technical requirements

The Admira Platform allows us to broadcast an endless number of different types of content through our screens. These contents can be files or packages of files uploaded from our own equipment (image, video, audio, html, flash), included from a URL (web, streaming), captured from an external device (webcam, video capturer, IPTV) or created from the platform itself (smartcontent, widgets feed…).

Admira Platform Automatic Encoder

The Admira Platform has an encoder that optimizes content performance. In the event that any content parameter is not adequate (weight, codec, format…), the server will automatically convert them to the optimal format for broadcast.

Requirements and technical recommendations

Content resolution

It is recommended that video resolution and orientation be the same as the setup of the player device graphics. Currently, most screens broadcast in FullHD, therefore the optimal formats would be: 1920 x 1080 resolution and 16:9 ratio (horizontal videos); 1080 x 1920 and 9:16 (vertical videos). For screens with higher resolution (2K, 4K…) we will follow the same pattern, but other factors such as hardware specifications or the distance at which the screen will be viewed must be taken into account.

Video files duration 

Short commercials (10-30 seconds) and a variety of campaigns are recommended for a digital signage circuit, given the short time the clients stay in the establishments. It will also serve to avoid saturating them with the same information over and over again.

Video files weight

Try to avoid sizes larger than 50MB for 15-30 second videos. In case you need to upload a video that is longer than normal, we will try to compress the content while losing quality as little as possible.

Campaign entry and expiration dates

When distributing content included in campaigns it’s recommended to define an start and an expiration date for the content at the time of upload. This way the dates will be met even if the player is offline.

Contents of interaction and connectivity with the audience

Digital signage allows interaction with viewers through the internet. Online content is a good way for retail experiences that go beyond narrowcasting. For this purpose, the screens of your digital signage circuit can be used to expand communications, information, and even promotional offers in a simple and interactive way.

Internet addresses or URLs

The most classic and historically used method, but no less effective for that. An address must always be offered as short and accessible as possible (we try to avoid complex addresses such as and respecting as far as possible the format and size of the aforementioned fonts).

QR codes

It is a more recent and faster method than the classic URL, since with a mobile of any range we can quickly access an address or video that we want to show the user. Generating these codes is simple from the Admira platform itself, by entering a link, a unique code is generated to your website, social networks, voting or visual content. The position of the screens must be taken into account for the correct scanning of this code and that it is accessible to the customer from their mobile phone, respecting the pattern and contrast thereof.

NFC connectivity

The Admira platform also offers this technology for the same purpose as QR codes and URLs, but with an even faster and easier way of customer access. To make use of this technology we need a reader and clearly mark the position where we have to position our phone. For correct use, we will try to position the reader at the height, and comfort, of our clients.


The widgets allow us to add modules with self-updating informative content to our broadcast. The sources of this content can be very varied, from meteorological information, RSS news feeds or a Twitter timeline. In addition to its informative function, these contents may represent a call to action from our company to the public to seek a certain reaction.
